Convoys arranged by the Suez Canal Authority today (8 August) are as follows:
The southbound convoy (33 ships) will start entering the canal in two groups:
The Early Group (19 ships) will start entering the canal at 1330 hrs local time and will stop at Great Better Lakes to resume transit on the tail of the normal southbound convoy. The Normal Group convoy (14 ships) will start entering the canal at 1800 hrs local time and will have free run to Suez port.
The northbound convoy (38 ships) will start entering the canal in two groups:
The Early Group (24 ships) will start entering the canal at 1330 hrs local time and will wait at Great Better Lakes to resume transit on the tail of the normal northbound convoy. The Normal Group convoy (14 ships) will start entering the canal at 1930 hrs local time and will have free run to Port Said.
Both convoys will start to exit the canal from both ends around 0500 hrs to 0600 hrs local time tomorrow (9 August) with all convoys expected to clear the canal between 1200 hrs to 1500 hrs local time (9 August). The SCA is working to minimise delays to convoys entering on 9 August and beyond.
