A sea parade comprising 9 government launches, 3 commercial vessels and 5 fishing vessels will take place in the Victoria Harbour on 8 April 2024 (Monday), to welcome China’s first domestically built polar scientific research icebreaker “Xue Long 2” visiting Hong Kong.
The parade will start at about 1000 hours on 8 April 2024 from Lei Yue Mun, following a route along the Eastern Fairway, Hung Hom Fairway, Central Fairway and will disperse off the Ocean Terminal north berth at about 1110 hours. A real time rehearsal following the same route will be conducted on 2 April 2024 (Tuesday).
Marine Department and Marine Police patrol launches will be deployed to regulate marine traffic during the passage of the sea parade.
Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and give a wide berth to the parade fleet and comply with any directions given by the Marine Department and Marine Police patrol launches.
