27 Sep 2021 / Singapore
From today (27 September), gatherings of more than 2 persons onboard any pleasure craft in Singapore waters are prohibited.
However, exemptions can be granted with prior approval for the following craft and activity:
a) SZH-licensed pleasure craft activities;
and
b) Marriage solemnisation onboard SZ-licensed pleasure craft.
In its Port Marine Circular No.37 of 2021 dated 25 September 2021, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore states that owners/operators of SZH-licensed pleasure craft that intend to carry more than 2 passengers for the conduct of ANY activities are required to submit a one-time application for MPA’s review and approval. The proposals shall be submitted at least 14 days prior to the commencement of the first trip with carriage of more than 2 passengers. The submission can be made to the Marine Safety and Environment Department.
Owners/operators of SZH-licensed pleasure craft are reminded that radio broadcasts, all forms of television, film and video screenings and the provision or allowance of other forms of public entertainment activities such as live music, dancing, variety acts and singing (by crew or passengers), amusement devices, darts, billiards, pool, snooker, karaoke, gambling and/or gaming instruments (e.g. dice, mahjong tiles, playing cards) are not permitted. Owners/operators of SZH-licensed pleasure craft should also make clear to passengers, for instance, that singing songs, including birthday songs, is not permitted.
Owners/operators of SZH-licensed pleasure craft are further reminded that no form of recorded music or sounds, including background music are allowed to be played.
With effect from today (27 September), passengers can only consume food and beverages onboard the SZH-licensed pleasure craft if all passengers from the same group meet any of the following requirements:
a) Fully vaccinated;
or
b) Recovered from COVID-19 (within 270 days);
or
c) Unvaccinated but has a valid negative pre-event testing (PET) result for the duration of the charter (refer to LINK for more information);
or
d) Children aged 12 years and below (born in and after 2009)
Owners/operators of SZH-licensed pleasure craft must check the status of such individuals.
