29 Oct 2021 / Australia
The Federal Government has announced the re-opening of the Australian International Border from November 1, 2021.
Australia Border Force advice states:
“From 00:01 AEST on 1 November 2021, subject to the requirements of the relevant state or territory of arrival, ‘fully vaccinated’ Australian citizens, permanent residents and their immediate family members can arrive in New South Wales and Victoria without being included in international passenger caps which remain in place for other jurisdictions.
“From 00:01 AEST on 1 November 2021, ‘fully vaccinated’ Australian citizens and permanent residents can depart Australia without requiring an outwards travel exemption.
These provisions also apply to Australian citizens and permanent residents who:
‒ are under the age of 12 at the time of departure (whether vaccinated or not), or
‒ cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons (with approved evidence).”
Under the current restrictions Ship’s Crew are exempt from any travel restrictions and are free to travel to Australia once they have applied for and been granted a travel exemption and an appropriate visa.
