Nhava Sheva Distribution Terminal Private Limited (NSDTPL) has commenced commercial operations with effect from 26 May 2023.
While continuing the ongoing activity like handling of liquid cargo and cement vessels at SWB and CCB respectively, NSDTL being a multi-purpose cargo terminal, explored the option of handling vessels carrying commodities like steel, project, bulk, break bulk including containers as a part of our assignment to enhance the terminal volume to achieve the committed throughput in the long run under the existing Contract Agreement in force with JNPA.
To serve the trade ore efficiently, NSDTPL has augmented the equipment at their terminal by inducting three harbour cranes, three reach stackers, four high-capacity forklifts including specialized tractor-trailers, etc.
Recently NSDTPL has achieved the first milestone of handling one million tons of cargo after taking over from JNPA.
To optimize the use of project facilities, equipment and other services to facilitate firming up of the cargo to meet the committed throughput including optimum utilisation of existing berths at SWB and CCB, NSDTPL shall exercise preferential or priority berthing in respect of vessels carrying commodities like steel, project, bulk, break bulk, car carriers, including container. However, it will always be our endeavour to accommodate other commodity vessels subject to availability of berths.
