PORT STATUS

  • The port of Port Elizabeth has resumed to full operations, reinstating all services and berths.
  • Port operating under Maritime Security level 1.
  • Cargo operations, bunkering and repair services are all permitted.

PEBOT (PORT ELIZABETH BULK ORE TERMINAL)

  • This terminal is operating at 100 % capacity – manganese exports are currently ongoing.

PEMPT (PORT ELIZABETH MULTI-PURPOSE TERMINAL)

  • The port has allowed for all cargoes to be worked through this facility inclusive of manganese ore.
  • Berthing congestion can be expected as berths are in high demand.
  • Wheat , breakbulk cargo and cement imports are ongoing.
  • Bunkering and STS operations can also be conducted at this terminal.

NCT (PORT OF NGQURA CONTAINER TERMINAL)

  • Port of Ngqura ( Coega ) is open and operational for all vessels.
  • Export of Bulk Manganese Ore and Import of Cement is ongoing at the Finger Jetty terminal.
  • The finger Jetty is also used for breakbulk import such as wind turbines and windmill components.
  • STS operations are currently on going at the Finger Jetty terminal.

TANKER BERTHS (PORT ELIZABETH TANKER TERMINAL)

  • Tanker operations are ongoing. This Facility is currently be used for the handling of LPG / ULP products.

OPL'S / SHIPS SPARES

  • Off port limit operations are permitted for crew changes, supplying of provisions/stores & ships spares.

CREW CHANGES

  • Crew change is now permitted in South African ports.
  • Crew are permitted to stay in the country up to and not exceeding 7days, in the event of having to wait for vessels arrival or flights.

STOWAWAY SEARCH - ONBOARD

  • Stowaway Searches via shore team have now been approved under strict control of their SOP.

OFFSHORE BUNKERING

  • Ongoing as per normal. Delays to bunkering can be expected due to adverse weather conditions.

CUSTOMS

  • Agents responsibility to liaise and pass all necessary clearances with customs working remotely.

IMMIGRATION

  • Agents responsibility to liaise and pass all necessary clearances with customs working remotely.
