14 Jan 2020 / Port Lambert, Australia
Severe Tropical Cyclone Claudia continues to move over open waters to the northwest of Pilbara, and is expected to continue to track towards the west-southwest. It is likely to start weakening later today (14 January).
Port Lambert port has been cleared and is waiting for weather conditions to improve for berthing. Anchorages are open for expected vessel arrivals, but currently full. All vessels are being directed to Anchor at C1.
Rio Tinto Shipper has advised that sea/swell conditions are not favourable for berthing. Vessels will struggle to stay alongside without tug assistance, so all berthing have been cancelled until further notice.
