The drought situation in the Panama Canal and associated restrictions introduced by the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) have resulted in a backlog of vessels waiting to transit the Canal, with an average wait time currently of 21 days.
The ACP has reduced the number of ships allowed to pre-book transit with the restrictions to remain in effect until at least 21 August 2023.
