The Panama Canal Authority (ACP), at the request of its customers, announces changes to the application of the Transit Itinerary Creation Fee announced in Advisory to Shipping A-10- 2020, specifically regarding bona fide errors made by shipping agents when submitting transit itineraries.
Effective immediately, exceptions to the application of the Transit Itinerary Creation Fee may be allowed, on a case-by-case basis, when caused by human error on the part of the vessel’s agent when submitting a transit visit in VUMPA. The agent must provide justification in order for the request to be evaluated for consideration of being approved.
