The Kiel Canal Authorities have announced at short notice that the New Big South Lock in Brunsbuettel is out of operation with immediate effect from today (26 February) until 28 March, due to maintenance and repair works.
Depending on upcoming west- and eastbound traffic volume, unforeseen delays may be possible. However, it is hoped that the closure will only have a minor impact on forthcoming transits.
